Eddie Dunbar and Jack Wilson yesterday gave a good account of themselves in the one-day Omloop van het Waasland; a 192km UCI ranked 1.2 event.
The riders faced 62km before racing around a 14.4km finishing circuit nine times, with cobbles on each loop.
The race eventually came down to a bunch sprint won by Geert van der Weijst of Team 3M.
Wilson and Conor Dunne - who also made a number of efforts to get clear - of An Post-Chainreaction finished in the bunch along with Dunbar of NFTO Pro Cycling.

Dunbar, third in line, getting his first taste of international racing against elite riders.
However, that group finish came after Wilson and Dunbar had made their presence felt.
Wilson was in the thick of the early exchanges and while those moves came to nothing, Dunbar then took up the challenge.
He got clear in a group after around 50km and stayed away for almost 20km; a very good showing for a rider in only his third competitive outing since leaving the junior ranks.
After around 130km Wilson was again getting involved at the head of affairs and pulled clear in a breakaway that would gain over one minute.
However, while it looked like a strong move, they were reeled in after around 30km up the road.
