
Mel Spath on her way to third at Sherwood Pines on Sunday
Mel Spath has gotten her 2012 international campaign off to a very good start, taking third place in the first round of the British XC Series in Sherwood Pines.
The Cycleways rider finished behind winner and British national champion Annie Last (Milka-Brentjens), with Lee Craigie (Lapierre UK) in second. Ireland’s Claire Oakley was also in action, finishing in 22nd place.
In the men’s race Irish national champion Robin Seymour (Team WORC) was 25th, with teenager Matt Adair (ChainReactionCycles-Vitus) in 55th. The men’s event was won by British Olympic hopeful Liam Killeen.
