Downhill is one of the disciplines that's increasingly grabbed the headlines in Irish cycling in recent years and this season the Irish Downhill Mountain Bike Series returns for four rounds.
Over recent seasons our top international riders, including Oisin O'Callaghan and Ronan Dunne, have taken some of the biggest wins on the international scene, including at the World Championships and the UCI Downhill World Cup.
Their success, and that of others riding internationally, has buoyed the domestic scene, with all of those riders now set to get the chance to compete at the national series 2025, for these four fixtures:
- May 10th-11th | Carrick, Co Wicklow
- July 21st-22nd | Ravensdale, Co Louth
- August 23rd-24th | Bree, Co Wexford
- September 27th-28th | The GAP, Dublin
Emmet Callaghan and Lilian Tobin claimed the elite men's and women's national series titles last year and will once again be among those vying for success each round, and overall, this season.
The National Downhill Championships will also be held in Ballyhoura, Co Limerick, on July 26th and 27th where O'Callaghan, who'll be racing in his back yard, will be out to defend the Irish crown he took in Ravensdale, Co Louth, last year.
