Dale Walker (Phoenix CC) has claimed the Irish Masters 40 road race title in Co Wexford this afternoon.

The fight for the title came down to a bunch sprint after the last of the early breakaway men were caught on the last lap.

Walker proved too strong for the opposition in the testing uphill gallop and came away with the coveted title.

Gareth McCullough (Armagh Down) took the silver medal while Robin Kelly (Waterford Racing) took bronze. Lucan CRC won the team title.
