John Buller, the former Banbridge CC rider competing with French team AC Bisontine this season, has taken his first victory of the 2022 campaign in France.

The 23-year-old, who won the elite National Criterium Championships last month and was Irish U23 road race champion last year, was best in the bunch sprint that settled Prix de Frontenaud in Saône-et-Loire yesterday.

Buller won the 125km race - averaging 42.25km per hour - from Julien Souton (SCO Dijon Team Materiel Velo) and Eliot Pauchard (Corbas Lyon Metropole).
