Daire Feeley (Burren CC) has won the Brian and Cora McNamara Memorial in Tuam, Co Galway, after his club dominated the winning breakaway and played their hand very well.
Though they were among a very strong eight-man group, that included Matthew Walls (APS Pro Cycling by Team Cadence Cyclery), they were sure to leverage the fact they had four men in the escape.
In the end, the Burren Cycling Club riders completed a rare 1-2-3 in Irish road racing, with Feeley winning it from Woods and Kennedy taking the final place on the podiu,.
From the small field, of about 20, in the C1 race, the action kicked off early, with eight. riders getting clear of the others about 10 minutes into the contest.
Eight riders were in that group, including Feeley and his team mates Paul Kennedy, Mark Shannon and Ruairí Woods, alongside Padraig Moran, Joe-Nathan Matar (both Owell Wheelers), Matthew Walls (APS Pro Cycling by Team Cadence Cyclery) and Bren Broekaart (Tuam Cycling Club).

That group rode up and up for four of the six laps, in the 120km race, with the attacking starting from the front group on the penultimate 20km lap in the Tuam Cycling Club promotion.
Feeley got clear with about 30km to go and managed to hold on all the way to the finish for an impressive solo victory. Woods finished 2nd, also solo, with Kennedy completing a clean sweep of the podium for Burren CC.
Moran was best of the non-Burren CC riders in the breakaway, taking 4th place from Walls, Broekaart, Shannon and Seán O'Kane (Oewell Wheelers)
