Ian Inglis powers to Ulster 25 Mile TT Champs gold with '48'

Ian Inglis (Powerhouse Sport) did not produce the performance he'd hoped for at the National TT Championships at the end of last month in Co Mayo, but he hasn't looked back since.

And having done blistering times over the 10 mile distance - including 17:58 and 17:51 at the latest rounds of the Ernie Magwood Series - Inglis has now won his latest Ulster title, over the 25 mile distance.

He blasted around the Laghey-Bundoran course in Co Donegal at the Ulster Championships yesterday, Sunday, in a time of 48:53, to claim the senior men's title by almost five minutes.

James Gordon (Phoenix CC) claimed silver in 53:41 while Malcolm Burke (Lagan Valley) won the bronze medal in a time of 62:04.

And having recently broken her own masters women's 10 mile TT time, with a 21:16, Hazel Smyth (Powerhouse Sport) won the women's masters 45 Ulster title in 61:52.

Karen Hull (Phoenix CC) claimed the silver medal for her efforts, after stopping the clock at 65:30. Johanna Regan (Carrickmacross CC) claimed the bronze, in a time of 69:14.

Adam Matthews of Banbridge CC is the 2026 Ulster junior men's champion for the 25 distance, after clocking a time of 53:46.
