
The National Cyclocross Championships are set to be livestreamed in a little over two weeks. The action in Co Louth will be produced for Cycling Ireland by InForm Sport Media, an Irish TV production company specialising in cycling. The women’s senior race will be the main focus of the broadcast.
Racing will be livestreamed on Cycling Ireland’s social media channels and will also be streamed live by the Irish Independent, which Cycling Ireland has been paying for media coverage for the past year in an arrangement continuing in 2023.
The cyclocross championships are being promoted by Bellurgan Wheelers in Co Louth on Saturday and Sunday, January 14th and 15th.
The titles were be fought out at McCrystal’s Track in Jenkinstown, Co Louth, the same venue where ‘Round 3’ of the Cyclocross National Series today, December 28th.
“Sunday’s senior women’s and men's races will be live streamed on the Cycling Ireland Facebook and YouTube channels,” the national governing body said of the championships next month when confirming live streaming would be in place again.
It added the streaming of the women’s race was being is supported by Sport Ireland’s ;Women in Sport campaign'.
“The support from the Women In Sport programme will see the women's race being the focus of the broadcast, including interviews with some of Ireland's best female cyclo-cross riders,” Cycling Ireland said.
The Irish Independent Sport will also broadcast the live stream on tits Facebook page, with a spokesperson for the newspaper saying it was delighted to livestream the championships again.
“Last year's championships saw some fantastic racing in really difficult conditions and on the back of the recent World Cup event in Dublin there's sure to be even more focus on this year's championships,” the Irish Independent spokesperson said.
Entries for the National Cyclocross Championships can be made now by following this link. Entries close at one minute to midnight on January 7th. Riders are required to hold a 2023 Cycling Ireland licence. It should be a great weekend of racing, with McCrystal Park proving a very popular venue in recent years.
