Dušan Rajović, the three-time Serbian champion riding for Team Corratec wins in Turkey yesterday ahead of Matthew Gibson, with his Irish WiV SunGod team mate, Matt Teggart, in 5th place on the stage

Matt Teggart has taken a top five placing in his second race of the 2022 season; Tour of Antalya in Turkey. The Northern Irish rider was on lead-out duties for British team mate Matthew Gibson, who placed 2nd on the stage, with Teggart 5th.

The 180.3km stage from Kemer to Antalya saw three-time Serbian road race champion Dušan Rajović (Team Corratec) proving quickest to the line for victory, ahead of Gibson and Italian rider Filippo Tagliani (Drone Hopper-Androni Giocattoli).

The honours came down to a sprint from a 90-rider bunch, of 150 starters, after some of the early climbs saw several groups being dropped. Teggart (WiV SunGod) adds his 5th place on stage 1 to his 21st placing on Thursday's opening stage.

The Irish rider is now 8th overall, with two stages remain, some nine seconds down on race leader Rajović. The only other Irish rider in the race is US-based Cormac McGeough (Wildlife Generation Pro Cycling), who placed 93rd on both Thursday's stage 1 and Friday's stage 2.
