Eddie Dunbar is back in action for Ineos Grenadiers tomorrow having recovered fully from a crash he suffered during his last race outing at Trofeo Laigueglia (1.Pro) two weeks ago.

The 25-year-old from Banteer, Co Cork, rode very well in that race and was one of the animators of the finale. He made the initial key split as the pace ramped up going into the last hour of action before going on the attack alone on the climb of Colla Micheri with 34 kilometres to go.

However, he was then one of a number of fallers on a tricky descent and did not finish the event. Thankfully, he suffered no major injury from the crash and will be back in action tomorrow at another Italian one-day race; the 199km Milano-Torino (1.Pro).

The finish of the race this year is much flatter than 12 months ago when the line was on the Superga climb in Turin, with Primož Roglič (Jumbo-Visma) taking the win.

This time around while the second half of the race features some climbing, they are short ascents and many of the teams have brought their sprinters in the hopes they will be in contention. However, there is a modest 2.3km climb crested with just over 13km to go that may serve up a few surprises if ridden aggressively.

Dunbar is part of an Ineos Grenadiers line-up that includes Cameron Wurf, Michael Kwiatkowski, Ben Swift and Laurens de Plus. Dunbar is then provisionally down to ride the five-day Settimana Internazionale Coppi e Bartali stage race starting March 22nd.
