Conor Hennebry has won his second race in nine days today, crossing the line well clear of the man in second in an amateur kermesse race in Kerksken, Belgium. The Aquablue man looks to be in the form of his life at the moment.

Just over a week after he took his first win since landing on Belgian soil for a six-week block of racing, Conor Hennebry has done it again this afternoon.
The Aquablue rider finished three seconds clear of the runner-up after a hard-fought contest in Kerksken while his teammate Mark O’Callaghan was an excellent 8th, eight seconds further back.
Hennebry edged Belgian duo David Desmecht (Wetterse Dakwereken-Trawobo-VDM Ctelite) and Tom Goovaerts (V.Z.W. Royal Antwerp Bicycle Clubelite) after jumping clear of them on the final 10-kilometre lap.
The 92-kilometre race was completed in 2:12:45 with an average speed of just over 41kph but Hennebry said that fails to illustrate how challenging an afternoon he had.

“It was seriously hard; up and down all day with loads of technical sections,” he said.
“It was fast from the start and nothing managed to get away until the last lap when three of us attacked and we were gone.”
Hennebry, who is clearly in superb form, jumped his compatriots and held on all the way to the line.
“I’m just in a purple patch of form at the moment; it’s not easier than I expected. I just jumped the other two inside the last kilometre.”
Aside from Hennebry and O’Callaghan, Sean McKenna was listed as a non-finisher while Angus Fyffe was in the main bunch, 11 seconds back in 27th.
