David Conroy won round 2 of the Navan Road Club winter cyclocross series in Blackwater Park this afternoon, convincingly seeing off the best efforts of his nearest challengers.
But it was Adam McGarr in the B race who perhaps stole the day; the 15-year-old winning by 5 minutes from a field of over 100 riders.
In the main event, those who were closest to U23 international Conroy were veterans Niall Davies (Biking.ie) and Anthony Doyle (VeloRevolution).
They were 31secs and 1:01 respectively behind the victorious Conroy over the seven-lap contest.

It was another well-attended event this afternoon with upwards of 150 riders taking to the line across the main race as well as the supporting B race and underage events.
Conroy has now made it two wins from two in the series and he’ll be looking to complete the hat-trick on Sunday December 4th when the final round is down for decision.
But if the Scott-Eurocycles man had an impressive win, what about youth rider Adam McGarr who beat the field of over 100 riders in the support race, coming over the line five minutes ahead of the next man.
The 15-year old Biking.ie man finished the eight laps in a time of 52:04 with David Cassidy (Lakeland CC - 57:17) and John Murray (Navan Road Club - 57:18) completing the podium.
Tanya Owens (Biking.ie) was victorious in the women’s race.
She finished almost one minute ahead of Nessa Jordan (Perth CC), who was 38 seconds clear of Joanna Bula (Lakeland CC) in 3rd.
Navan Road Club's next race is on Sunday, December 4th, and it doubles up as the Leinster Cyclocross Championships.
