Ian Inglis (Kinning Cycles) and Linda Kelly (Spin the Bean) were fastest in the second round of the Ernie Magwood TT Series on the Frosses course in Ballymena on Thursday night.
The opening round of the series last month saw junior Conor Murphy (Caldwell Cycles) equal the 17:42 senior men's national record time over 10 miles set by Ryan Mullen in 2014.
And though the times were a bit slower last night, in tougher conditions, the best of the men and women who took to the start line were still moving very quickly.
Inglis clocked a time of 18:40 to top the men's podium ahead of Team Skyline team mates Conn McDunphy, the former elite men's TT national champion, and Shay Elliott Classics winner, Ronan O'Connor.
McDunphy posted a time of 18:47 last night, just seven seconds down on winner Inglis, while O'Connor rode the 10 miles in 19:02, some 22 seconds off the flying Inglis.
In the women's event, Kelly - the tandem pilot who has won gold at the Worlds - was best on the night with a time of 20:06. Eileen Burns (Ballymena RC) was 2nd on 21:35, with Aliyah Rafferty (Tofauti Everyone Active Majoco) 3rd in 22:14.
