Ian Cassidy of Fixx Rouleurs won the Beechmunt Cup in Kilmessan. When the limit riders escaped the clutches of the chasers, Cassidy pressed for home alone in the closing stages to take a solo win. Seen here in cyclocross action, the Dubliner is also a strong triathlete.

Ian Cassidy of the Fixx Rouleurs squad made the most of a two and a half minute handicap to stay away to the line and snatch the Beechmount Cup in Kilmessan yesterday.
Triathlete Cassidy was part of a group of A4s and over 50s that stayed clear of the scratch bunch on the night, the Dubliner pressing for home on his own towards the end of the race and soloing to the line 10 seconds clear of Garda veteran Andrew Waters.
Another veteran, Noel Thompson of Smartlamp Aviation Displays led the next group across the line seven seconds later for third.
