Swinand scalps McDunphy at Hammond TT, Keenan takes women's race

Greg Swinand has put in a fantastic ride at the Noel
& Kieran Hammond Memorial TT, scalping Conn McDunphy to win.

The veteran rider and multiple Irish champion against the
watch, whipped around the 32.5km course in Roundwood, Co Wicklow, in a time of
45:35.

That put the Dan Morrissey-MIG-Pactimo top of the
standings by 37 seconds from McDunphy, who is riding for Nogent-Sur-Ouse in
France this year.

McDunphy’s former team mate at Dublin club Lucan CRC, Cian May, rounded out the podium in a time of 46:12 in the contest starting and finishing at Vartry Resevoir.

And in the elite men’s race Conor Murnane of UCD Cycling
Club was 4th in a time of 48:02.

In the women’s event, Aideen Keenan of Dublin Wheelers was best. Her time of 58:01 was 1:37 faster than runner-up and Jennifer Neenan (Sundrive Track Team).

The A2 category was won by Neal Hudson (Scott Orwell
Wheelers) in a time of 48:43.

He took it from team mate Anthony Mulholland who clocked
49:14. Tiit Taluma (St Tiernan’s CC) was 3rd with 49:41.

The A3 classification saw Denis McCarthy (Slipstream) come out best in a time of 51:38.

Ken O'Neill (Scott Orwell Wheelers) was next on 51:49, with Ciaran Lewis (Bray Wheelers) 3rd in 52:46.

Joe Sheehy (Bray Wheelers) was a clear win of the A4 contest in a time of 51:06.

That was 2:59 faster than runner-up Ian Devlin (Scott Orwell Wheelers) with Joe Ahern (Collins Cycle Centre) 3rd in 55:41.
