Gorey Three Day stage 3 TT results | Ballyminaun Hill 2.4km

The top 12 riders on general classification at the Gorey Three Day in Co Wexford are all within 40 seconds after this evening's 2.4km TT, which should ensure a very aggressive final stage tomorrow. There is clearly all to play for, with some strong juniors coming out on top in the TT and now in the driving seat in the general classification after three stages of racing.

Victory in the TT went to Curtis Neill of Caldwell Cycles, who took the verdict by less than three tenths of a second. The 2.4km race against the clock produced a top 20 covered by just 20 seconds, and which resulted in Lucan CRC's Peter Kirwan losing the yellow jersey he had taken on this morning's stage 2.

The race lead has passed back to Conor Prendergast, the Galway Bay CC first-year junior who won the opening stage so impressively yesterday. Prendergast was 2nd in this evening's test, just a fraction of a second slower than winner Neill. Eddie Brennan of Dublin Wheelers placed 3rd, less than two seconds down.

Matthew Hoare of Cycling Leinster, who animated the opening stage before eventually placing 3rd, was 4th today at six seconds. Junior rider Travis Harkness (Scott Bright Motor Group) was 5th at seven seconds with this morning's stage winner, Darragh Doherty (Flanders Color Defever Team), rounding out the top six, also at seven seconds.

Prendergast now leads overall by five seconds from Hoare, with stage 2 winner Doherty 3rd overall at 10 seconds. Then comes Killian O'Brien (Cycling Leinster), 4th at 14 seconds, with TT yellow jersey man, Kirwan, down to 5th, but just 18 seconds off the race leader. This evening's TT winner, Neill, is 6th overall at 20 seconds.
