Geraint Thomas back on top with first win since 2018 Tour de France | Video

Geraint Thomas back in a yellow jersey for the first time since he stood on the top step in Paris in July, 2018

Geraint Thomas's career is finally back to winning ways almost three years after a dominant display at the 2018 Tour de France saw him take the yellow jersey all the way to Paris.

On that Tour, Thomas stepped out of the shadows of former team mates Chris Froome and Bradley Wiggins to win the race and take two stages, including a brilliant win atop Alpe d'Huez.

However, he experienced very poor form for periods the following season and since then a litany of crashes, most notably at the Giro last year, derailed his efforts to get back to the top of the sport. But that difficult phase of his career has been now put to bed, as Thomas today claimed the final yellow jersey at the Tour de Romandie.
