Angus Fyffe has taken another
victory on the domestic scene when he was best in the Cork GP in Whitechurch
today.
The Caldwell Cycles man emerged
strongest in a two-up sprint with James Davenport (Strata 3-VeloRevolution).
While the event was the last round
of the Cycling Ireland National Road Series, the best placed riders were not in
the breakaway.
And that meant the leader’s jersey
stayed on the shoulders of Conor Hennebry; the Dan Morrissey-MIG-Pactimo
sealing the overall win in the race promoted by his own team.
Today a strong breakaway of about 15 riders for clear early in the race, with the event characterised by aggressive but tactical racing as the series title was up for grabs.

James Davenport (Strata
3-VeloRevolution), Andy Maguire (BioRacer-DHL), Charlie Prendergast (Castlebar
CC) and Angus Fyffe (Caldwell Cycles) event pulled clear at the front.
They were joined by John Buller (BioRacer-DHL),
Luke Smith (DHL) and Matthew Sparrow (Dan Morrissey-Pactimo-DHL), making for
seven up front.
When the final selection was made inside the last 10km it was Fyffe and Davenport who pushed ahead, with the latter taking the two-up sprint to win.
Prendergast emerged best of the riders just behind the leading pair to take 3rd place.
More to come.
