Having won more races than any other Irish man so far this season and most recently taken three stages in the Tour of the North, Fraser Duncan has started the An Post Rás in similar fashion.
He got up the road on stage 1 from Dunboyne to Roscommon yesterday, and after winning the only climbers' prime along the way and grabbing a total of four seconds in time bonuses in the hot spots sprints, he enjoyed a very fruitful day.
He holds the climbers' jersey, is the best county rider overall and is 5th overall just six seconds down on the yellow jersey of Robert Jon McCarthy (An Post-Chainreaction).
