Foran Cycling Club pulled off an impressive breakaway move on the opening stage of the A2-A3-Junior Charleville Two Day yesterday when two of its riders took a 1-2 over three minutes head of the bunch.
Thomas Springbett and Charles Bailey piled the pressure
on out front to finish the stage 3:02 ahead of the peloton.

The two team mates put everything they had into the move
and were rewarded with a time gain that may prove enough to deliver 1st and 2nd
overall after today’s TT and road race stages are complete.
At the end of yesterday’s 86km stage Springbett took the
victory, and first yellow jersey of the race, ahead of Bailey, with Shane Coll
of Jons Drogheda Wheelers winning the bunch sprint for 3rd place.
