Conn McDunphy (Lucan CRC) and Killian O'Brien (Orwell Wheelers) have won the senior and junior men's final general classifications at the Cycling Ireland National Road Series for 2023. A total of 77 riders scored points in the senior men's series and 11 juniors took points in their separate series.

McDunphy has developed year-on-year into one of the very best Irish riders; a status confirmed by the fact he was first reserve for the senior men's road race team at the World Road Championships last month in Scotland. During the national series this year he won two rounds - the Meath Grand Prix and the John Drumm Cup - was 2nd in the Donal Crowley Memorial and 4th in the Des Hanlon.

A former Irish elite TT champion took the series victory from Daire Feeley. The All human-VeloRevolution rider, who has made the series his own in recent years, was 2nd this time around. He finished with 120 points to McDunphy's 140. Feeley also won two rounds of the series; the Donal Crowley and the Mullingar GP.

Jason Kenny, the UCD rider who was ever-aggressive this year, placed 3rd overall, on 79 points, followed by team mate Liam Crowley on 75 points, Aaron Wade (Cortizo Aluminium Team) on 70 points and Luke Smith (Moynalty CC) on 71 points.

In the junior series, Killian O'Brien of Orwell had the series wrapped up even before the planned final round had to be cancelled last month; the Banbridge CC Alan Towell Memorial hit by Storm Betty overnight before the race, rendering the course unsafe.

O'Brien contended with the senior riders at the front this year and has been a very impressive breakthrough rider in 2023. He claimed series victory with a huge tally of 66 points.

Willem O'Connor (JEGG-DJR Academy) was 2nd on 22 with Liam O'Brien (Fermoy CC) rounding out the podium on 20 points. Cal Tutty (Dungarvan CC) was 4th on 20, followed by Patrick Casey (Anexo Group RT) on 19 points and Maxwell Hereward 360 Official Cycling on 18 points.
