The five-stage Vuelta a Burgos came down to an intense fight up the final climb on Saturday, with Ivan Sosa (Team Ineos) winning the day.
For most of the final climb Mikel Landa (Bahrain McLaren) piled the pressure on and attacked several times in a bid to shake off race leader Remco Evenepoel (Deceuninck-QuickStep).
However, the young Belgian star, who is still aged just 20 years, was able to hold the Spanish rider and towards the top of the climb he even put in a very good attack of his own.
Landa then responded to that move by clawing back Evenepoel, with Sosa in tow, and it was down to just those three riders for stage honours.
However, when Sosa attacked in the final kilometre he rode away from the other two for stage victory atop the Lagunas de Neila; some 4.2km at 11 per cent, with the road rising long before the official start of the climb.
And though Landa drove hard after him and dropped Evenepoel a little as the line neared, Sosa took the stage win and Evenepoel the overall honours.
Eddie Dunbar (Team Ineos) was in the lead group before he was distanced with just under 4km remaining as the group split to pieces, as the footage (below) of the final 10km shows.
