Oisin Ferrity (Caldwell Cycles) has raced into an early lead in the Cycling Ireland junior rankings after one month of racing in the 2023 campaign. The Irish junior road race champion has 30 points and is one of three juniors - from a total of 86 in the rankings - who have scored their points as A2s.
Quillan Donnelly (Usher Irish Road Club) is 2nd in the rankings, on 20 points, and Darragh Doherty (Flanders Color Defever Team) is 3rd, having collected 33 points. However, he is listed as having zero points as an A2 as he was recently upgraded. To date, 22 juniors have scored points since the start of the campaign.

All of the other ranked juniors are in the A3s, with Joseph Mullen (Navan Road Club) at the top of that ranking, on 40 points, from Conor Prendergast (Galway Bay CC), on 29 points, and Liam O'Brien (Fermoy CC) on 28 points.

Ferrity has won two races, among other results, since the start of the season; the A2 Seamus Kennedy Memorial and the A2 Life Credit Union Newbridge GP. Donnelly is yet to take a victory but has been very consistent, including taking 9th in the A1 race at the Des Hanlon Classic last weekend. Doherty has one win so far this year, proving best in the A3-A4 event at the Phoenix GP.
Mullen, who has enjoyed a very strong campaign after making the Irish junior team during the cyclocross season, won the A3 race at the recent Boyne GP. After him, in 5th in the rankings, Prendergast won the A1-A2-A3 race at the Castlebar GP last month. Furthermore, 6th placed O'Brien, another cyclocross international, has already won the A3 races at the Seamus Kennedy Memorial and the Life Credit Union Newbridge GP.
