Mark Downey put in a decent ride in France but rued not choosing to use his TT bike though there was a climb at the finish.
Matt Teggart has made a long-awaited return to racing after an injury battle; lining out for EvoPro Racing in Boucles de la Mayenne (2.1).
His TT ride in France this evening was just his second competitive outing of the season.
The only other time he has pinned on numbers this year was the one-day Cholet-Pays de la Loire (1.1) in March.
Injury has plagued him since late last year though he is back in the saddle now and placed 104th in this evening's 4.5km test in Laval.
The 23-year-old was 43 seconds down on stage winner and first yellow jersey of the race Dorian Godon (AG2R La Mondiale).
However, the placing and time lost matters little to Teggart. He is effectively only getting his campaign underway now and will hope for an incident-free run at racing in the coming months.
Best of the EvoPro Racing men in the French TT was Mark Downey, though he rued not riding his TT bike in the test.
He was 30th some 18 seconds down on the winner and will hope to make an impression on the racing over the next three days.
Aaron Kearney, in his first full season at this level, was 106th some 45 seconds off the leader. Team mate Daire Feeley was another six seconds back in 111th.
EvoPro Racing has taken eight victories so far this season; Harry Sweeny and Wouter Wippert taking wins and riding in France as part of the team's line-up this weekend.
Racing continues on Friday with 183km from Renault Saint-Berthevin to Changé; a course littered with small climbs.
Saturday takes the riders 179km from La Croixille to Lassay-les-Châteaux, with more medium climbs. The last one is 4km long, though at 3.2 per cent it is not steep.
The final stage on Sunday is 173km from Cossé-le-Vivien to Laval, on a flat course though with a kick up at the finish.
