Eoin Mullen has set a new national record for the flying 200 sprint TT on the opening day of the Dublin International Track GP at Sundrive Rd today.

Based in Switzerland at the UCI’s world cycling centre, the Aran Islands man was competing for the national team today and lowered his own record for the power event by six tenths of a second, clocking the fastest time of the day; 10.858 seconds.

Another impressive emerging rider today was Javan Nulty; the DID Dunboyne man and Irish U23 international on the road finished second in the U23 scratch race to Lucas Liss of Germany.

Caroline Ryan showed she is in great form by winning two of three events that were held today as part of the omnium, which consists of six events run over two days.

She took those wins in both the 3km pursuit, an event she has been ranked No 1 in the world for long periods in the past couple of seasons, and also the 10lm scratch race.

She was second in the third event – the elimination race; being beaten only by Sarah Inghelbrecht riding for the Belgian national team.

In the men’s 15km scratch race Martyn Irvine put in a fantastic ride on his trip home from his base in the US.

However, his Irish team mate Ryan Mullen suffered a punctured, which was to prove costly for the Irish when Irvine bossed the action in the latter stages and surged clear with two Germans.

Outnumbered by them, he was worked over and had to be content with 3rd behind Maximilian Beyer and Lucas Liss.

Nulty again put in a good ride to take 4th place to add to his runner-up slot in the U23 scratch race.

  • We will have full details of all races tomorrow as official results were not available today. The only results available were for the men's 200 metre sprint TT and the U23 scratch race, which you'll find below. Apologies for the delay, but with track meetings we can really only operate on official results.
