Having raced as BikeExchange-Jayco this year, Eddie Dunbar's new team for at least the next three seasons has unveiled a new title sponsor, from Saudi Arabia. It will take naming rights for the next three years. Dunbar has joined the team and will officially start his tenure with the squad on January 1st after over four seasons at Sky/Ineos.

The team will become Team Jayco AlUla as the Royal Commission for AlUla steps up as title sponsor, having been involved in a more minor way this year. The team has been owned, and sponsored, by Australian businessman Jerry Ryan since its beginnings back in 2012.

And while Ryan last summer recommitted himself for at least three more seasons, the new backing from AlUla means the squad has moved away from being dependent almost exclusively on funding from Ryan. Announcing the news this morning, the team said the addition of a new title sponsor was a big day in its evolution.

AlUla is a "boutique heritage and culture destination" in northwest Saudi Arabia and aims to "introduce the stunning landscape of ancient civilizations to millions of cycling and sports fans around the world". The team will ride its first race of the year, under its new name and look, at the Tour Down Under next month.

"This new commitment will enable the organisation to continue this fantastic journey in the world of professional cycling, with even bigger goals and ambitions for the future," Ryan said.

"With this new name, we will have a new look for both our men’s and women’s teams and with the continued commitment and support from all of our other partners, we are very excited to get the new year started after enjoying a lot of success throughout 2022."

Team Jayco AlUla general manager Brent Copeland said: "We feel their great enthusiasm and motivation and we are delighted to have them onboard for the next three years. This makes us very proud as an organisation as we have been working hard in recent years to perform in the races, but also with servicing our partners in the best possible way. We are building the future of this unique organisation and it very exciting to be a part of it.”
