Dutch seize the day at Rás na mBan stage 5 TT in Kilkenny

Manon de Boer of the NWVG-Uplus team has won the 2.5km TT this morning at Rás na mBan and that victory has lifted her into the race leader's jersey ahead of the final criterium stage this afternoon, also in Kilkenny City.

De Boer was among six riders all equal on time at the head of the general classification going into the short and sharp TT today. And because the test was short, it always looked like the overall winner would come from those top six riders, with the TT set to separate them.

That is very much how it played out this morning - though there is still one stage to come - because at the end of the TT the same riders were in the top six overall on GC, though there order had changed a little.

Renee Van Hout (Team Noord Holland) was 2nd in the test, at 2.39 seconds, with Tiffany Keep (Hutchinson-Brother UK) 3rd at 2.4 seconds. Caoimhe O'Brien of Team Ireland was best placed Irish rider, in 8th place at 6.59.

Linda Kelly (Dan Morrissey-Primor by Pissei) was best placed over the Irish overall going into the TT, sitting 6th and among those riders all on the same time at the head of the general classification. She was 9th in the TT, at 7.21 seconds, and remains 6th overall. Double stage winner Mia Griffin of Team Ireland was 10th in the TT.
