New club Dublin Ravens Road Club has taken the baton from Usher Irish Road Club in promoting the Mondello Series for the coming year after the outgoing promoters had run the events for the last 15 years.
There will be new primes introduced and also a reduced entry fee for some categories to encourage them to turn out and get stuck into the action.
“We’re excited to bring the Mondello Series back on the calendar after its custodians requested the baton be passed on. Our aim is to encourage participation and fierce competition, while also nurturing youth and women’s cycling,” said a spokesperson from Dublin Ravens Road Club.
“This series is all about creating a positive and inclusive environment where riders of all levels can race, learn, and grow within the sport.”

There will be seven races in total on the following dates: April 29th, May 6th and 27th, June 17th, July 29th, August 12th and 19th.

"Each race will be designed to provide a competitive environment for cyclists of all abilities, ensuring exciting and action-packed racing for everyone," Dublin Ravens said, also paying tribute to Usher Irish Road Club for its "amazing dedication" over a long number of years.
"To enhance competition, each race will feature two primes. The first, an early prime, will encourage C3 riders to stay away for as long as possible. The second prime will reward the chasing categories, adding another layer of excitement and strategy to the races."
Dublin Ravens added it was keen to run an inclusive series aimed at trying to grow the sport, especially for women and young riders. With that in mind, there will be reduced entry fees for women and juniors.
"A league table will be maintained throughout the series, with an overall winner being crowned," the club added. "This adds an element of long-term competition, allowing riders to track their performance across all seven races."
All funds raised through the series will go back into the prize pool, ensuring that participants are rewarded for their efforts and the club is also looking for feedback through its website, ravens.ie.
