Dermot Trulock last night took victory at the Ballivor GP in Co Meath when he proved best from the breakaway.
He got the better of Mark Dowling (Unattached) and Tim O’Regan (Killarney CC) at the finish.
Trulock, who started the season as a Holdsworth Pro Cycling rider, is currently riding with his Lucan CRC having coming back to it before the Rás.
Having been aggressive from the gun last night but been very closely marked, Trulock managed to get clear solo on the second lap.
He pressed on alone for a period before a group got across to him.
It included Dowling and O’Regan, Ciarán Handley (McNally Swords CC) and Simon Jones (UCD-FitzCycles.ie).
The five worked together to ensure they stayed out to fight it out for the spoils.
However, they began attacking each other on the last lap, with Trulock and Dowling particularly active in that regard.
But when those attacks came to nothing the four sprinted it out at the finish. Trulock got the verdict over Dowling, O’Regan, Handley and Jones in that order.
