Young David Conroy has ridden to another confident victory in the Fixx Coffeehouse Supecross Series, taking the B race in St Anne’s Park, Raheny, after emerging victorious in the mud of Tymon Park in the west of the city three weeks back.

The Donnybrook Landscaping Scott Cycling rider put in the fastest start by far of the 66 rider field, clocking a time of 8mins 1sec on the opening lap of seven to go into a significant 18 second lead over Richie Lenehan and Declan McCabe who filled 2nd and 3rd slots starting lap 2.

Conroy looked relaxed out front over the next couple of circuits as he extended his lead on most of his nearest rivals on lap 2 and 3 before slowing somewhat on lap 4 when he went around in 8:17.

That was a full 11 seconds slower than both Joe Jones and Garreth Hegarty who were pulling him back ahead of the rest of the field and who would eventually finish 2nd and 3rd respectively.

However, just as A race winner Robin Seymour would do in his event a little later in the afternoon, Conroy put the hammer down during the business event of the race, putting 22 seconds into Jones and 24 into Hegarty on lap 5, suggesting he was very much riding within himself during the early circuits.

On the penultimate lap 6 and the final circuit 7 he extended his lead by another couple of seconds on the chasers to hold off Jones by 30 seconds with Geraghty a further 2 seconds down by the finish.

The winner had plenty of time to celebrate and even pop a wheelie on the finishing straight.
