Cycling Ireland has confirmed the dates for many of main events - below - that will take place on the road, and track, next year. The permit system has opened for those who plan to run other events during the 2023 season, who can now work around the main races such as national championships, Rás Tailteann, Rás na mBan, Junior Tour of Ireland and the National Road Series.

There will be seven rounds of the Cycling Ireland National Road Series next year; on in March, another in April and two in June. The final three will take place in July, August and mid September, as part of the national governing body's efforts to spread top quality racing through the season and keep the campaign going until mid to late September.

The first major of event of next year will be, as always, the National Cyclocross Championships, which will unfold on the weekend of January 14th and 15th. The National Road Championships will be held from June 22nd to 25th.

The events permit system - which you can access by following this link - is now open and will remain open until November 18th. When the calendar is reviewed, the permit system will be opened again.

However, Cycling Ireland is "strongly recommending" race organisers apply immediately for permits for any competitive or leisure events during the current window "in order to avoid date clashes with other events and secure your preferred date".
