Darren Rafferty tops class U23 podium at National TT Champs

Darren Rafferty has won the Irish U23 TT crown in Co Tipperary, where he topped a podium that included two of last week's Rás Tailteann stage winners, Kevin McCambridge and Adam Ward.

Rafferty (18), riding for Hagens Berman Axeon, went around the 32.1skm course at the National TT Championships in a time of 39:36. That was 23 seconds faster than McCambridge (20) of Trinity Racing, the winner of stage 5 at Rás Tailteann.

Ward (21), who won stage 3 at the Rás, was 3:44 down and collected the bronze in the colours of SmartDry Girona Cycling City.
