No stranger to national and provincial titles, Darnell Moore has taken another in Banbridge this evening, winning the Ulster Criterium Championships.

The Caldwell Cycles man forged clear in a breakaway that swelled late in the contest when a number of chasers bridged.

On the last lap he had too much power for his rivals; attacking them and coming home just clear of the other escapees to win.

He took the title from Chris McGlinchey (Vitus Pro Cycling), James Curry (Dan Morrissey-MIG-Pactimo) and Lindsay Watson (Powerhouse Sport).

Darnell Moore adds the title to provincial and national titles at elite and U23 level he has won in cyclocross, road racing and hill climbing.

It was Moore’s second victory of the season, having already won the Wallace Caldwell Memorial.

More to come.
