Darnell Moore, Rachel Irvine take victories in Donard Park, Newcastle

Darnell Moore (Caldwell Cycles) has taken his first win of the season in the Ulster Cyclocross Series.

The former elite national champion was best in the fifth round of the series, winning the men's main event from McConvey Cycles duo Thomas Creighton and Graham Boyd.

In the women's race in Donard Park, Newcastle, Rachel Irvine (The Bike House) emerged with victory in the Shimna Wheelers promotion.

She claimed that victory from Judith Russel (Phoenix CC) and top tested and road international Eileen Burns (Ballymena RC).
