Darnell Moore holds off strong chase group at Tour of Ards

Darnell Moore has opened his account for the 2022 season by taking a strong solo victory today at the A1-A2 Simon Brien Residential Tour of Ards. The Caldwell Cycles rider held off a strong chasing group today to win.

That chasing group was led home by Daire Feeley (EvoPro Racing), with Luke Smith (Moynalty CC) rounding out the podium.

A six-man moved managed to get clear late in the contest featuring eventual winner Moore and his two Caldwell Cycles team mates Gareth O’Neill and Craig McAuley. Also in that move were: Feeley, Smith and Lindsay Watson (Powerhouse Sport).

the attacks coming close to the finish it was Moore who managed to give the
others the slip and he took victory nine seconds ahead of Feeley and Smith in
2nd and 3rd. Just two seconds later came O’Neill and McAuley, in 4th and 5th,
with Watson 6th some 16 seconds behind the winner.

Just
28 seconds after Moore crossed the line the bunch sprint for 7th place was won
by Nathan Mullan (Dromara
CC) from Shay Donley (Dan Morrissey-Pactimo) and Odhran Doogan (Caldwell Cycles).
