The defending champion Darnell Moore has won gold at the Irish Hill Climb Championships.

Riding for Caldwell Cycles Omagh, Moore was quickest up the Scalp climb inn Co Donegal.

He took the title ahead of Conor Kissane, the Killarney CC man and Munster champion taking silver.

And rounding out the podium in the Foyle CC-promoted event was Chris McGlinchey.

The Chainreaction Cycles man came back to racing after a break in time to take a nationals medal in 2018.

Darnell Moore not only won the hill climb title last year but went on in the early weeks of this year to claim the elite cyclocross title.

And in the National Road Race Championships in July he claimed silver in the elite race and U23 gold.

It means he still holds three national titles and will be one of the favourites on the cyclocross scene in the months ahead.
