Having ridden for EvoPro Racing last year and returned to the domestic scene for 2020, Daire Feeley has notched another win this evening at the Peter Bidwell Memorial.

The
VeloRevolution-Strata 3 rider pressed clear with another of the strong men of
the home scene, Darnell Moore (Vitus Pro Cycling), and managed to beat him in
the sprint for victory.

The event was run off in Donore, Co Meath, and the Drogheda Wheelers promotion attracted a sold-out field of 113 riders, with five minutes separating the scratch group and the limit riders.

Raced over eight
laps of an undulating local circuit, a select group broke clear of the scratch
riders and bridged across to the front of the race by the halfway mark.

However, it wasn’t
until the penultimate lap that Feeley and Moore took flight, riding clear of
the group they were with and surviving out from to battle it out for the
victory.

Feeley’s team
mate Mark Dowling - the winner last weekend at the Michael Shiels Road
Race in Broadford, Co Limerick – brought home the chasing group for 3rd place
on the night.

Junior rider Odhran Doogan (Caldwell Cycles) took 4th place from strongman Chris Reilly (Bohermeen CC) and Stephen Gallagher (Orchard CC).

Maria McAllister of TC Racing was best woman on the night; a great sign for the season ahead for the
teenager and first-year junior.
