A crash in the main field forced the organisers to halt and then abandon the main event at the Women's Cycling League in Corkagh Park, Dublin, last night.
There were several fallers in the crash that marred the finale of the 'A Race' with three laps to go. And when it was not possible to move the crashed riders and clear the course in sufficient time, the event was abandoned.
However, while some of the riders took a very heavy fall, it appears there were no broken bones and hopefully everyone will recover and get back on their bikes soon.
The 'B Race' went ahead on the night and was won in a bunch sprint by Ellen Murray (TC Racing). Cleo Jensen (Orwell Wheelers) took 2nd place while Eva Donovan (Tipp Wheelers) rounded out the podium.
