Conor Verbruggen has captured the Irish A3 road race title in some style in the colours of Bray Wheelers in Co Wexford this afternoon.
He emerged best for a very competitive contest to take the gold medal just ahead of the bunch that was hunting him down on the uphill finish in the Gorey Cycling Club-promoted championship.
Marcus Treacy of Killarney Cycling Club
took the sprint for the silver medal just four seconds behind the winner
Verbruggen.
Peter McLean rounded out the podium;
taking the bronze for Ards Cycling Club.
The top three were followed by Johnny
McRoberts (Banbridge CC) in 4th place, Aaron McCann (Drogheda Wheelers) in 5th
and Gary Frehill (Collins Cycling Centre) in 6th.
As well as the A3 title race this afternoon, the Masters 60 event was staged - following the Masters 40 and Masters 50 races this morning.
The Masters 60 title was won by Gerry Martin (Velo Club Balrothery) from Jimmy Flynn (Cuchulainn CC) and John Shortt (Smartlamp Aviation).
More to follow very shortly.
