Conor Sprice has taken victory in the Strabane Lifford GP after a 40-mile solo breakaway in the main event today.
The Lakeland Cycling Club man lined out in the 64-mile A3 race and attacked it hard.
Once he got clear he put his head down and committed, though he was still a long way out.
And while the event finished on an uphill stretch in St
Johnston, Co Donegal, Sprice was strong enough and had a sufficient gap to take
the win.
In his wake the testing finish saw a drag race to the line among the strongest me in the bunch.

Ruairi Power of Caldwell Cycles won the battle for 2nd place on the day.

Johnny Webb (North Down CC) rounded out the podium from
Matt Seebach (Slaney CC), Kevin Holian (Errigal CC) and Chris Tierney (Bann
Valley).
Sprice spent so much of the race up the road on his own
that he also came away with the king of hills award.
In the A4 race, the fight for victory came down to a
sprint from a large group which was won by Ardal McDermott of Four Masters CC
Another Donegal club rider, Troy Hegarty of Errigal CC, took 2nd place with Damian McCamphill of Dunloy CC rounding out the podium.
