Dunne takes general classification result, UCI points in Turkey

Conor Dunne looks absolutely shattered after a hard stage in the rain in the breakaway. But he got through it, doing a good ride to put himself in contention. And he rounded it off with fifth in the final standings today in Turkey.

 

Irish champion Conor Dunne has rounded out the Tour of Antalya in Turkey with 5th place overall having finished in the bunch on today's final stage.

The honours came down to a bunch sprint on the concluding stage, won in Antalya by Roy Jans of Corendon-Circus.

He got the verdict from Giovanni Lonardi (Nippo Vini Fantini Faizanè) and stage 2 winner Bas van der Kooij (Monkey Town).

Yesterday's winner of the queen stage, and race leader, Szymon Rekita (Leopard Pro Cycling) finished safely in the bunch today to seal overall victory.

Conor Dunne (Israel Cycling Academy) placed 6th yesterday and moved up to 5th overall. He held his place in the standings today after he finished in 31st and in the bunch.

Irish U23 TT champion Michael O'Loughlin (Team Wiggins) was also in the peloton today. He was in 42nd place and he was 64th overall.

Furthermore, for his efforts at Tour of Antalya Conor Dunne picked up 15 UCI ranking points.
