Conn McDunphy Holdsworth Pro Cycling wins in Mondello

Now riding for Holdsworth Pro Cycling, Conn McDunphy has taken a very solid win at the Mondello Series.

On a rough night for racing in Co Kildare, with wintry conditions the order of the day; McDunphy went through the field for victory.

He was part of the scratch group on the night, facing a fight to get back to the limit riders.

And even when he did so, a four-man group was still out front having broken clear.

McDunphy was one of only a very small number of A1 or A2 riders to see the front of the race.

Veteran Paul Kennedy rounded out the podium on the night in the colours of Strata 3-VeloRevolution.

A brace of A2s followed in the shape of Cian Keogh of Sports Room Racing and Rob Farrell of Lucan CRC.

And it was A4 man Gavin Byrne of Drogheda Wheelers who would complete the top six in the second round of the Usher IRC-promoted series.
