Cleo Harvey on a roll at Corkagh Park, Dublin, with third victory

Cleo Harvey is developing a knack of getting into a race-winning position and then finishing the job; the Dublin Wheeler victorious again at Corkagh Park last night

Cleo Harvey has continued to gain momentum on the domestic scene; the Dublin Wheelers rider scoring her third win of the season at Corkagh Park, Dublin, last night.

While racing in the women’s series has been marked by aggression and breakaway groups over the last couple of months, the pattern was a little different in the latest round, in wet conditions, as both races came down to bunch sprints.

In the ‘A Race’ Niamh Stephens (Giant Liv) was especially active; throwing in repeated attacks in a bid to split the field. One of her moves, on the final lap, looked like it may succeed but she was closed down.

And once Stephens was back in the
group that set up a sprint finish, with Gabriel Goldenyte (Unattached) going
early and opening up the gallop.

However, Harvey had too much in the
tank for her rivals and came through for another strong win, from Claire Ni Reachtagain (Sundrive Track Team) and
with Goldenyte in 3rd.

The ‘B Race’ also finished in a sprint, won by Shona Keane (Unattached) from Seaghna Campbell (White River Wheelers CC) and Olivia Moore (Unattached).
