Cian Keogh has taken his second win of the season at Mondello Park , continuing his very strong 2019 campaign so far.
He has been a regular in the results almost every weekend; runner-up in the Shay Elliott Memorial in May his best performance this year.
And as part of the line-up that won the national elite team pursuit title last year he has just spent a stint training in Mallorca with the Irish U23 track team.
The Ciclotel Travel fueled by YPB rider used his track power well last night in winning on Mondello Park from a large bunch sprint.
Keogh was in the A1 scratch group that caught the last of those ahead with just five laps remaining.
And shortly after the catch was made he went clear in an attack off the front that was chased down.
Once caught by the bunch he went in another move, but again that came to nothing and so he waited for the sprint.
On the finish like Keogh took victory from junior ride Aaron Wade; the Vitus-Chill-NRPT man who spent Saturday's national championships in the breakaway.
Two veteran riders were next; John Priest (Lucan CRC) in 3rd and Colm Bracken (Murphy Surveys Kilcullen) in 4th place.
The top six was completed by Eugene Murtagh (Lucan CRC) and Ollie Kelly (Longford CTC).
