Chris McCann wins Autumn Gold Road Race
Chris McCann has taken victory in the main event at the Autumn Gold Road Race in Loughgall, Co Tyrone.
The Inspired Cycling rider was best in the bunch sprint that settled the honours despite many attacks throughout.
McCann got the better of Timothy Duffy (Unattached) and Conall Donnelly (Clogher Valley Wheelers).
The A4 race also came down to a bunch sprint, but only just. In the closing stages the bunch was intact despite a lot of attacking.
But Simon Diffin of Armagh City Wheelers decided to strike out and he hurtled in towards the finish on his own.
However, the finish couldn’t come quick enough for him and he was pipped on the line by Gerard Mooney of Harps CC.
Diffin got so close to the line that only Mooney passed him; the late attacker hanging on for the runner-up place.
Bottecchia Racing Club man Michael Cox rounded out the podium.
