With the first of the national titles of 2013 down for decision tomorrow, Sunday, an extra title race has been added to the schedule for the National Cyclocross Championships.
The host club Cuchulainn CC in conjunction with the chief commissaire Paul Watson have decided to hold a separate race for vets/women/junior riders.
This will now take place in addition to the senior men’s race and a support event on the day.
Well over 100 riders have entered for the championships and it is felt that running two races will make the field more manageable for the organisers and also minimise the rider traffic and increase safety as frontrunners lap the field during the racing.
The development will also mean an additional competitive race for spectators to watch and should add to the sense of occasion.

- 12.00 Support Race begins
- 12.30 Support race winner finishes
- 12.30 Gridding starts for the Vets Championship including Ladies and juniors
- 12.40 Race starts
- 13.20 Winner finishes
- 13.35 Gridding For the Senior Championships
- 13.45 Senior Championship race starts
- 14.35 Expected Winner time of Senior Championship.
Note - Medals will be decided based on number of starters on the day
