Buller and McGlinchey battle for win after aggressive racing at Nutts Corner

John Buller has taken his third win of the season after just seeing off Chris McGlinchey in a tight finish in the Kinning Series at Nutts Corner.

The Banbridge CC man had already taken victory in the
Annaclone GP at the start of the season and won by the Brendan Campbell
Memorial after the season was re-started following the Covid19 lock-down.

On Tuesday night McGlinchey (Vitus Pro Cycling) pushed Buller very close after the duo had pulled ahead of their rivals in the sprint at the end of the main event but the Banbridge man was too fast.

The winner of the opening round of the series last week, Dean Harvey of VC Glendale, was on the attack again; spending a long period of the race out front on his own.

Harvey started in the A3 group, which had a minute on the
A2s at the start while the A1s were another minute behind in the handicapped
event.

A small group of A1 riders broke clear of the scratch
group – Buller, McGlinchey, Lindsay Watson (Powerhouse Sport) and Karl Morgan
(Phoenix CC) - and caught the groups ahead.

From that point teenager Harvey was then gradually reeled
in, which formed a group of 13 riders on the final laps to fight it out.

At the finish Buller won from McGlinchey with Watson in 3rd
place. Next was Morgan in 4th followed
by junior Harvey, Shay Donnelly (Dan Morrissey-MIG-Pactimo), Gary Cranston (East Antrim Audi) and William Callaghan (North Pole CC).
