Bingham, McKee, Murphy crowned winners at Cyclocross National Series

National Masters 40 cyclocross champion, Alan Bingham (Newry Wheelers), came out on top at the end of yesterday's Masters 40 race at the Cyclocross National Series in Portadown after a great battle with Glenn Kinning (Kinning Cycles). That win saw Bingham also take overall victory in the series from Richard Cleverly (Sliabh Luachra Cycling Club) and Paddy Daly (Scott Bright Motor Group).

In the U16 ranks, Curtis McKee (Scott Bright Motor Group) won Saturday's final round of the boys series from Cameron Henry (Inspired Cycling) and Jack Woods (Carlow RCC). McKee won the series from Woods in 2nd, with Hugh Og Mulhearne (Panduit Carrick Wheelers) and Ryan Daly (Scott Bright Motor Group) equal 3rd. Aliyah Rafferty (Island Wheelers) won the final round of the U16 girls series, with Faith Robinson (Bray Wheelers) in 2nd and Kate Murphy (Sliabh Luachra Cycling Club) placing 3rd. Murphy won the series overall from Cara Suckling (VC Glendale) and Edith Murphy (Cuchulainn CC).

In the Masters 50 category, the final round went to Colm McGarvey (Epic-Expert Cycles) from Jason Henry (Inspired Cycling) and Des Woods (Newry Wheelers). Fearghal Regan (Kilcullen Cycling Club Murphy Geospacial) won the series overall from David McKee (VC Glendale) and Henry.

The U14 boys race yesterday was won by Caleb McGreevy (VC Glendale) from Rian McCrystal (Bellurgan Wheelers) and Fionn Crinnion (IMBRC). McGreevey and McCrystal tied for series victory - each winning two rounds and finishing 2nd in two rounds - with Shane O'Brien (Fermoy Cycling Club) placing 3rd overall.

In the U14 girls race yesterday, Emer Heverin (Kinning Cycles Cycling Club) won. The overall series win was claimed by Katie Turner (Orwell Wheelers Cycling Club) from Heverin and Emma Edmundson (Westport Covey Wheelers Cycling Club).
