Irish elite and U23 road race champion Ben Healy has just missed out on victory in the stage 4 TT at the Baby Giro today.
The Trinity Racing rider, who is also the
Irish U23 TT champion, was in the hot seat after setting the fastest time today
but was ultimately beaten to the victory by just one second.
In the end, the 25.4km stage from Sorbolo Mezzani to Guastalla was won by Italian rider Filippo Baroncini (Colpack Ballan).
The 20-year-old covered the course in a time of 29:36 and was just one second faster than Healy, who has already won stages in the Tour de l’Avenir and Ronde de l'Isard (2.2U) in the last two years.

After Healy today came his team mate Ben Turner; the
British 22-year-old claiming the last spot on the stage podium just four
seconds down on winner Baroncini.
And as Turner has enjoyed a very strong start to this
race, placing 6th and 7th on the opening two stages and gaining time on most of
the field, he has now gone into the race lead.
That’s a huge result for Trinity Racing, which is owned
by Irish cycling agent Andrew McQuaid. It comes 12 month after the Continental
team won the race overall with Tom Pidcock.
For his efforts today, Healy (20) has also moved up the overall. We’ll have more information on today’s stage when it becomes available a little later.
