Ben Healy has put in a great ride against the clock on the opening stage at Deutschland Tour

Fresh from his 6th place in the elite men's TT at the European Championships last week, Ben Healy has taken another top result against the clock. Today on the opening stage of Deutschland Tour (2.Pro) he finished again in 6th place.

Over the short 2.8km prologue course in Weimar today Healy (EF Education First) was just five seconds off the stage winner, world TT champion Filippo Ganna (Ineos Grenadiers). Bauke Mollema (Trek-Segafredo) was 2nd at two seconds while Nils Politt (Bora-hansgrohe) was 3rd at three seconds.

Then came Mick van Dijke (Jumbo Visma), Tour de France stage 1 TT winner Yves Lampaert (Quick-Step Alpha Vinyl) and Healy (21); all three at five seconds in the TT ridden on road bikes.
